DSM announces a price increase of €0.08/kg on its powder coating resins for Europe, Middle East and Africa effective for deliveries from January 1 or as contracts allow.

Gerben Algra, Global Business Manager for DSM Powder Coating Resins says raw material feedstock had remained relatively stable through Q3 albeit at the high levels set in 2006 and first half 2007. Feedstock prices started to increase again through Q4 on the back of a strong feedstock market and high oil prices. Steep increases in methanol prices were pushed through into NPG prices. Algra adds ‘Further feedstock increases are expected in Q1 2008’.

With five polyester powder resin plants DSM is a leading global supplier of polyester coating resins. Powder Coatings are used in architectural, domestic appliance, automotive and general industrial applications.
