Free flowing moulding
Free flowing moulding powders are used in the production of electrical and
electronic parts, such as connectors and switches. The powders consist of
mixtures of resins, fillers, short glass fibres, pigments, organic peroxides,
etc. For free flowing moulding powders styrene-free resins are used. As a
cross linking monomer frequently diallylphthalate is used.
The powders are produced in high shear mixing and extruding equipment.
During their application the powders are fed into a mould and cured under high
pressure at temperatures up to 180 °C.
