DSM Composite Resins announces price increase on all products related to high pricing on crude oil
Schaffhausen,Switzerland,27 Nov 2007

Europe’s largest UP resins and gel coat producer, DSM Composite Resins AG, has announced a price increase on all of its resin and gel coat products of €70 (Euro) per metric tonne with effect from 1st January 2008.

Ronny Ledent, Sales Director Composite Resins Europe, stated that the increase is an inevitable consequence of the dramatically increasing price of crude oil. This has a knock-on effect on feedstocks and raw materials, besides escalating energy and freight costs.

In addition, the persisting strong demand from emerging markets on both crude oil, but also UPR , will create shortages on certain raw materials in the near future.

“It is important for our customers to understand the gravity of the current situation”, continued Ledent, “this volatile price hike of crude oil, driven by the emerging markets, and their increasing demand of raw materials, will continue to have effect on European UPR producers.”

DSM composite Resins confirms it is fully committed to the composites industry. We suggest our customers to contact their local account manager for further details.
