DeSolite protective fiber coatings are applied to individual strands of
optical fiber as a dual coat system. A soft, primary coating protects the
fragile glass fiber against microbending and attenuation, while a harder
secondary coating is applied for mechanical protection and slick handling
surface. Together, the dual coat system ensures that fiber will deliver
long-lasting high performance in the field.
