DSM Desotech Inc., a world leader in the development and manufacture of UV-curable materials headquartered in Elgin, IL, has received the Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award for the State of Illinois.
Sponsored by the Illinois Psychological Association and supported by the American Psychological Association, the award recognizes organizations committed to policies and programs that support a psychologically healthy work environment for their employees. Award criteria include: Employee Involvement, Family Support, Employee Growth and Development, and Health and Safety.
"In an economy where uncertainty is high and stress can be difficult to manage, Desotech is committed to doing everything we can to promote the well-being of our associates," says VP Human Resources Augie Schulke. "We are very pleased and honored to receive this award."
In addition to providing an array of programs aimed at increasing employees' safety, health and financial security, DSM Desotech also contributes to more than ten local community citizenship programs including: the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin, the Elgin Community Crisis Center's annual "Giving Tree," the Elgin and Kane County Police Association's back to school and Christmas “Shop With a Cop” programs, and The Science Screen Report—an eight-volume science video presentation for elementary and secondary schools in Elgin and Carpentersville. Desotech associates are encouraged to also participate in charitable giving, receiving an employee match of up to $250 on donations made to the programs of their choice.
