MC2 (Metal Clad Composite) combines two technologies to deliver metal performance without machining. The process combines the high strength physical properties of the Somos' NanoTool™ resin (created via nanoparticle technology) with the nickel plating expertise of RePliForm and Metalise It-America. The end result is a highly stiffened composite with significantly enhanced physical properties for low-volume production.
The MC2 process expands the use of SL-produced NanoTool parts for the medical, aerospace and automotive industries in a number of new application areas such as:
