A .22 vs. DMX-SL 100 - The High Impact Leader
During product development DSM had a crazy idea. DMX-SL 100 has extremely high
impact resistance but what would happen if it was put through an extreme
test? What if a .22 caliber bullet was shot at it?
On September 24th 2006 they did just that. As for the results, you can see for
yourself. It didn’t shatter, it didn’t break apart – in fact the bullet didn’t
even pass all the way through!
This test has been imitated on other “high impact strength” SL resins (using
air rifle pellet guns), but the results never matched DMX-SL 100.
