Advances in technology have only increased the weight of ancillary equipment,
such as communication, night vision and laser equipment, on the helmets worn
by soldiers or the police. Ideally, a helmet should weigh no more than approx.
1.5 kg, without any reduction in the level of protection provided. In fact,
the protection level even has to be increased. Dyneema® HB25 makes this
possible at very low helmet shell weights.
