Main application areas:
-
Autoclave vulcanisation (e.g. elastomeric membranes)
-
Blends with low unsaturation polymers such as IIR
-
General rubber goods (mouldings)
-
General rubber goods (extruded profiles)
-
Peroxide cured formulations (e.g. water seals)
-
High temperature applications (e.g. automotive hoses, v-belts)
Main characteristics:
-
Easy processing
-
High physical properties
-
Low extrusion/calendar shrinkage
-
Complies with certain FDA guidlines (food)
The ability to accept high loadings of both reinforcing and diluent fillers
while still maintaining good mechanical properties offers a very wide range of
application possibilities. For extrusion applications vulcanised by an
autoclave process, Keltan 6622A is widely used. The low ENB unsaturation level
of this grade offers improvements in heat stability with both sulphur and
peroxide based cure systems.
