The European Commission has informed DSM that it has closed its investigations into alleged violations of the anti-trust laws involving the EPDM sector without charges of any kind against DSM or its affiliates. This decision follows a similar decision of the Department of Justice in the USA, which DSM already communicated in its Press Release of 27 July 2006, regarding the results of the second quarter 2006.

The investigations of the European Commission and the US Department of Justice started in December 2002.

EPDM is a synthetic rubber and a major product of DSM Elastomers, marketed worldwide under trade name Keltan™. EPDM is used in a wide variety of products in the automotive, building & construction and other industrial markets.
