Versatility

Micabs® is extremely versatile and can be used with a wide range of polymers, processing techniques and laser marking systems:

Polymers
Micabs is based on a general purpose PE or PP carrier with low melting point carrier and is suitable for most thermoplastics. With Micabs, laser marking no longer relies on the carbonization of the polymer matrix and is therefore matrix independent. Micabs has a proven track record in polymers such as filled and unfilled PA, PBT, PET, POM, TPU, TPE, TPV, PE, PP, PVC, ABS, SEBS and silicon rubber.

Processing techniques
Micabs is stable up to 300ºC and can therefore be processed using most conventional processing techniques, such as:

  • injection molding
  • blow molding
  • (co)extrusion
  • extrusion coating
  • foaming
  • (multilayer) film blowing
  • (multilayer) film casting

Laser marking systems
Parts that are produced with Micabs can be laser marked with all industrial laser systems operating in the range of 300 - 2200 nm. Such systems include all lamp-pumped solid state lasers, diode (array) lasers and diode-pumped rod, fiber, (inno)slab and disc lasers.
