Unless exempted, all substances manufactured or
imported into the EU must be registered. This registration consists of the
submission of information on the use and safety of substances. Substances of
high concern require in addition to registration authorisation.
In line with the demands DSM has informed its customers about the
pre-registration of substances in DSM products. With regard to substances in
products that are not manufactured or imported by DSM, suppliers have been
asked to inform DSM about their registration.
Where necessary mitigating action took place to secure supply. Coordination of
all REACH-related actions within DSM is guided by a corporate Steering Group.
An Expert Team of product safety specialists across the business areas has
been established for coordination of registrations. A defined IT structure
supports the registrations and contributes to collecting and sharing
information with suppliers and customers on the use and exposure of substances.
