Making REACH Work
REACH, the new European chemical substances legislation, came into force on
June 1, 2007. In short, REACH aims to enhance the protection of human health
and the environment by increasing knowledge about hazards posed by chemical
substances, and by applying appropriate risk assessments for the use of such
substances.
REACH is a considerable regulatory challenge to the industry, which is
required to take greater responsibility for managing risks posed by chemical
substances. REACH applies to all companies that manufacture, import and use
chemicals.
DSM is fully committed to making REACH work, for the benefit of ourselves and
our supply chains. We acknowledge the important objectives of REACH and aim to
support our partners in the supply chains.
