Here’s a list of the e-Commerce and e-Collaboration tools we can offer you as a registered user:

1. e-Commerce

e-Commerce is a form of business transaction in which companies purchase and sell products and services online (that is, using computers and networks, in particular the Internet).

DSM has developed the following e-Commerce options for its business partners:

  • B2B connection: linkage of customer and vendor ERP systems for the purpose of basic order processing. DSM has developed two options for B2B (business-to-business) connectivity:
    • P2P connection: P2P (Point to Point) refers to a situation where two ERP systems are directly connected to each other.
    • Connectivity hub: A connectivity hub is a kind of central “switchboard”. Messages from partners whose ERP systems are connected to the hub are automatically routed to the other partners for which they are intended without the need to build individual partner-to-partner connections separately (which would be point-to-point).
  • Webshop: Our (Asera) Webshop offers customers and suppliers an online tool for placing and receiving orders, monitoring the status of their order and accessing information relevant to the order.
2. e-Collaboration/Services

We offer several options for online collaboration and technical service:

  • Collaboration tools: Collaboration tools are “tools used in a mutually beneficial and well-defined relationship between two or more individuals or companies to achieve common goals by sharing information and resources”. DSM offers two such tools:
    • Webconferencing: Through Webex, DSM’s corporate standard, we offer conferencing services that can add compelling rich media, including application and data sharing, integrated teleconferencing, and business communications.
    • Team rooms: A team room is a self-service web tool for team collaboration that offers a secure and central workspace on the web. It can be used to coordinate, collaborate and communicate, e.g. to plan events, facilitate an acquisition, brainstorm a new sales strategy or oversee a product rollout.
  • Service tools:
    • Global Survey of Grades: An advanced selection tool.
    • TS online: A tool enabling customers to obtain Technical Service through our Electronic Helpdesk.
