Wire and cable applications of Sarlink

Wire & cable jackets and firewall grommets

For decades elastomers have been used in cable jackets, and especially for applications requiring flexibility. Cable jackets are generally subject to stricter requirements concerning mechanical properties than cable insulation, because the jackets often have to be resistant to wear, for instance in trailing cables. Their dielectric properties, on the other hand, are less critical than those for insulation. Other important properties are weather resistance, ozone resistance, oil resistance, flame retardance and long term aging resistance.

European flame retardant grades:

Sarlink 3380N-02
Sarlink 4380N-02

  • Non-dioxine suspect flame retardant
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Good processing
  • Sarlink 4380N-02 has better elastic properties
  • UL 94 V-0 @ 1,2 mm
  • Good high temperature performance
  • Colorable with masterbatch

North American flame retardant grades:

Sarlink 4339DN
Sarlink 4370
Sarlink 4380

  • Chemical resistance
  • Outstanding processibility
  • Sarlink has better elastic properties
  • UL 94 V-0 @ 1,2 mm
  • Excellent high temperature performance
  • Colorable with masterbatch

Sarlink 4339D-N09

  • Non-dioxine suspect flame retardant
