The number of products made with the help of genetic modification has
increased steadily. Nevertheless, the majority of DSM's products are made
using classical biotechnology, in other words not using GMOs.
Where possible, DSM maintains the classical production methods and offers its
customers the choice between a variant produced with or without genetically
modified micro-organisms. Some products, however, can only be made using
genetically modified organisms.
