DSM has been awarded the international AVK Innovation Award in the Environment category for the development of new, ultra-strong air container panels, RP10 panels, made from advanced composite material technology from DSM. The panels are made with DSM’s Aeronite® resin and Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber™. The weight saving offered by the containers can result in a significant drop in fuel consumption for a typical air cargo fleet. Press release.

DSM regains leadership in Dow Jones Sustainability World IndexDSM regains leadership in Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

On 3 September 2009 DSM regained its number one position in the chemical industry sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. From 2004 to 2006 DSM was named the worldwide sustainability No. 1 in this sector. In 2007 and 2008 it ranked amongst the top leaders in the sector. Press release.

Gold Proper AwardGold Proper Award

On 20 June 2009 DSM KALTIM Melamine was rewarded for the continuous improvements it has made with respect to the environment and its general level of managing the environment by receiving the Gold Proper Award. The Proper Award is an Indonesian governmental initiative and awards are given per province, in this case the province of East Kalimantan. Out of 28 companies in the category Industry & Service companies, DSM KALTIM Melamine was the only one which received the GOLD Award. DSM Kaltim received this Gold Award for the second consecutive year.

GAIN Business Award for Innovation in NutritionGAIN Business Award for Innovation in Nutrition

In May 2009 DSM was awarded the international GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition) Business Award for Innovation in Nutrition 2008 for NutriRice®. The GAIN Business Award for Innovation in Nutrition was set up by GAIN and IBLF to recognize a company displaying outstanding innovation in the development of new products and services to combat malnutrition, improve public health and promote sustainable development. DSM's Triple P Report 2008 has achieved an A + rating according to the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). This is the highest score companies worldwide can achieve for the transparency of their sustainability reporting efforts.
