Support physically handicapped children in Pyongtaek-si, South Korea

Q2 2008
A meal for all the children, a magician, a drum band: the Torch event on May 16 in the Eastern Child Rehabilitation Center in Pyongtaek-si, South Korea, was a huge event. A dream came true, both for the school and for Kim Min-Kyu from DSM Nutrition Korea. “We don't always think about it, but physically disabled children are part of our society as well. This Torch initiative allowed us to make a gesture to the disabled children at this school, by providing financial support (to purchase computers, bikes, daily necessities and vitamin tablets) and also by volunteering.” The employees of DSM Nutrition Korea helped out with cleaning the facilities and other physical supporting activities.

Despite their disability,” says Kim Min-Kyu, “ these children enjoy happiness in life; it's written all over their faces. We should follow this attitude of life.”
