Playground for Scout troop 'Oos Haka' in Beek, the Netherlands

Q3 2007
Initially, Jack van Eldert's Torch initiative was only concerned with placing new fencing on the site of the St. Martinus Scouts hall in Beek, to keep vandals and unwanted guests out. But as time went on, the plans developed further, such as making alterations to the entrance of the building, the bicycle garage, the car park, the field and last but not least: the site of the campfire. All of these improvements got under way from September 1. Scouting president, John Visser, the Mayor of Beek, Armand Cremers and Gerard van der Zanden of DSM hoisted the flags of St. Martinus Scouts, the municipality of Beek and the Torch initiative. The ceremony was attended by two hundred enthusiastic scouts and their families.
