Association for the deaf support

  • March 2003 in Maastricht (the Netherlands)
  • Ton Rongen (DSM Technopartners)
Ton's dream

Ton Rongen works at DSM as an electrical specialist, and in his spare time as advisor and inspector of audio frequency induction systems.

Ton wanted to supply the Dutch Deaf Association (NNVS) of Maastricht with equipment to be able to have meetings in more places. The existing equipment does not always meet the requirements. So Ton came up with the idea of the Audio Frequency Induction Loop (AFIL).

Access for hearing loss

As an inspector, Ton approved the system and could hand over the necessary sign to Professor Dr Ed Marres, chairman of the Dutch Deaf Association of Maastricht.

Ed Marres received the AFIL from Hans Leijen, Program manager Dreams come true. Ed expressed his feelings for the great worldwide and local social benefits of DSM and of course Ton and the members of the project 'Dreams come true' for their contribution. The members of 'NVVS' are very happy, now they can have meetings in several places.
