Earthquake damage support

Stephan Dusault, the then site manager of DSM Coating Resins in Filago wanted to help the people of Ururi following the earthquake in October 2002. His idea was to refurnish the primary school in Ururi. DSM Filago employees bought gifts for 400 children.

On 6 December 17 employees transported these gifts by truck to Ururi, a trip of 800 kilometers. The mayor of Ururi was on hand to welcome the visitors, who spent the night under canvas alongside the villagers. Stephen Dusault was awarded the honour, ‘Ambassador of Solidarity’, as well as receiving the immense gratitude of the villagers.
