Refurbish homeless shelter

Progress of the project

In November 2003 Wayne and the other volunteers painted the men’s quarters and the entrance area. After the December holidays Wayne will paint one more room in the women's area. “They are very appreciative of the work we did ” said Wayne.

The homeless shelter in Greenville

This local homeless shelter was in urgent need of the following repairing or replacing:

  • painting projects
  • door replacement
  • refrigirator repair
  • window frame repair
  • floor waxing - this task was completed on April 12, 2003

All the work will be done by volunteers of DSM. The pictures show why this was necessary.

Window frame repair

A section of window frame in Apt. 11 of Transitional Housing is rotting and needs to be replaced.

Painting

Men's and women's sleeping dorms will be painted.

Door replacement

A series of interior doors and one exterior door will be replaced.
