History of PeptoPro®

DSM, recognised for its innovations in performance materials and life sciences, has been a sponsor of the Dutch Olympic Committee (NOC*NSF) since 2001. NOC*NSF approached DSM with the request to develop a revolutionary new natural food supplement to improve the performance of Olympic athletes.

DSM Food Specialties applied its extensive knowledge of enzymes to develop a protein hydrolysate called PeptoPro®, a pleasant tasting source of natural amino acids which rapidly feed the muscles. Initially, PeptoPro® was available exclusively for Dutch athletes at the Athens Olympics in 2004. The athletes consumed more than 200,000 cans of PeptoPro® Recovery drink.

DSM has conducted an extensive series of efficacy studies in human subjects and proved that PeptoPro® improves performance, prolongs endurance and shortens recovery time during and following physical activity. With its benefits becoming increasingly clear to athletes, PeptoPro® is today being consumed by an ever-growing range of top athletes and teams around the world, as well as by recreational sports participants.
