US Beach volleyball claims second gold
Friday, 22 August. After the gold of May-Treanor and Walsh in the women's competition, Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers claimed the second gold medal for the USA in the beach volleyball tournament. The medal tally for the Unlimited Sports Team now stands at four times gold and one silver!
Meet and Greet with Marcelien and Lobke
Thursday, 21 August. Representatives of DSM met with Dutch silver medalists Marcelien de Koning and Lobke Berkhout today for a Meet and Greet in the Holland Heineken House. CEO Feike Sijbesma thanked the girls for their confidence in DSM's expertise and material and expressed his admiration for their performance. On their part, Marcelien, Lobke and their coach Jacco expressed their appreciation for DSM's support in their Olympic project.
US Beach Volleyball wins gold!
Thursday, 21 August. Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh won their second consecutive gold medal in women's Olympic beach volleyball by defeating Tian Jia and Wang Jie of China 2-0 (21-18, 21-18) on Thursday at the Chaoyang Park Beach Volleyball Grounds.
Tjemp stays cool thanks to DSM's cooling vest
Thursday, 21 August. Tjemp, the official Ducth Olympic mascotte, is working in the Holland Heineken House several hours a day. The distances in and high temperatures in the House make this a tough task, but thanks to DSM's coolvest he is staying cool now.
US Volleyball going strong
Tuesday, August 19. Today, US Beach Volleyball team May-Treanor and Walsh qualified for the women's finals which will be played on Thursday August 22 in Beijing's Chaoyang Park. In the men's competition, Rogers and Dalhausser take on the Brazilian Georgians Geor en Gia, who yesterday defeated Dutch couple Nummerdor/Schuil, in Wednesday's semi finals. In the indoor volleyball tournament, both the women's and men's team have qualified for the quarterfinals, with the men winning all five games in the preliminary round.
Marcelien and Lobke seize silver!
Monday, 18 August, Marcelien de Koning and Lobke Berkhout won silver in the Olympic 470 regatta in Qingdao. After a thrilling race, they secured their Olympic medal with a fifth place in the medal race. The Coster brothers finished just outside the medals in fourth place.
