Charge air cooler end caps

Intercoolers reduce charge air temperature after compression by the turbocharger, getting more air to the cylinders, improving engine efficiency and reducing pre-combustion risks. Replacing the aluminum end caps on the intercoolers with Stanyl® brings significant cost and weight reduction through:

  • Easier flow for shorter cycle times, reduced molding costs and improved productivity
  • Higher stiffness at high temperature for thinner walls, reduced weight and material cost
  • Toughness that reduces risk of damage during crimping to radiator compared to PPS or PPA

Stanyl delivers the best stiffness and creep resistance at high temperatures as well as excellent fatigue resistance that withstand charge air pressure variations.

Stanyl has been used for more than 10 years by major OEM’s and is the leading high temperature material in these applications.

Material Solutions

  • Stanyl TW200F6, TW200F8, and TW200F10 all offer excellent stiffness high temperature, outstanding fatigue behavior, High peak temperature resistance, and cost savings through improved processability.
