Metal replacement options for chassis and suspension applications

Stanyl® gives you the ability to replace metal backbones over molded with vulcanizing rubbre to create lower weight parts at lower production cost for chassis and suspension components like:

  • Gasket carriers
  • Top mounts
  • Window sleeves

Material Solutions

  • Stanyl TW300 is a cost effective solution for Engine Sealing Gasket Carriers that replaces die cut metal to significantly reduce the weight of the part. Stanyl can be overmolded with silicon based rubbers and it is resistant for post curing conditions at 190-210 ºC for 16 hours.
  • Replacing metal with Stanyl TW200F6 reduces the weight of Anti Vibration Systems Top Mounts by up to 80%, eliminates secondary operations like degreasing and sandblasting, and does not corrode like metal. Parts are more easily integrated with Stanyl and system costs can be reduced by approximately 35%.
  • Window Sleeves are the rigid backbone used to create cavities for glycol in a hydrobushing that are typically molded out of aluminum, zinc, or steel. Replacing these materials with Stanyl TW200F6 and Stanyl TW200F12 lowers the weight of the sleeve and reduces processing steps which results in cost reductions.
