Clutch systems

The self-adjusting clutch allows pedal efforts to remain constant as the clutch disk wears. Its spring-loaded thermoplastic ring features serrations which are wedged forward to maintain the proper gap between the pressure plate and cover fulcrums, resulting in a consistent feel for the driver throughout the life of the vehicle life. Dimensional tolerances for the serrations are extremely narrow so the low post-mold shrinkage of Stanyl® makes it the best material fit. Stanyl provides outstanding high-temperature performance over the 100,000 mile life expectancy of the vehicle, including dimensional stability, resistance to compressive creep, and chemical resistance.
