Power distribution

Stanyl® offers high thermal resistance for internal and external housing components in power distribution equipment.

  • For higher nominal current strength (In) and breaking capacity (Isc), Stanyl meets short term thermal and magnetic tripping demands and provide long-term reliability.
  • It resists melt-through from heat generated during overload breaking
  • For internal components, when high mechanical properties (strength, modulus, ductility) over a wide temperature range, up to >250º, need to be combined with high creep resistance as function of temperature.
  • For high In/Isc rated MCB flanges Stanyl shows a good balance between resistance to part erosion and ability to generate gases that pre-cool the arc prior to entering arc extinguishing chamber. 

Stanyl delivers dependable flammability and insulation resistance

  • UL yellow card data at low wall thicknesses
  • Consistent and reliable UL94 ratings even when high levels of regrind are used
  • Grades specifically tested according to and meeting IEC 695 GWFI
  • RTI ratings meeting application needs
  • Dependable and sufficient electrical properties (insulation, CTI)

Stanyl grades can be readily marked
For printing key product information on components Stanyl offers best tampon printing adhesion and is laser markable (UV or Nd-YAG laser types). Detailed information on laser marking of DSM materials can be found in the Laser Marking Brochure.
