Extreme narrow tolerance


Extreme precision is key for engineering plastics that need to deliver guaranteed performance in automotive components long-term.

Materials like our Arnite XT are now replacing die-cast aluminium or steel precision parts in components like Electric Power Steering. In fact we’ve been meeting narrow tolerances in this most critical safety component for some 30 years. 

Arnite XT is unique in its ability to meet extremely narrow precision requirements consistently, across multiple batches. However, unlike aluminium, Arnite XT is injection moldable – which means improved cycle time and cost reduction for manufacturers thanks to more efficient processing. 

At the same time, these components have very stringent narrow tolerance requirements of 50 microns or less.

Some 300 million vehicles worldwide have featured brake booster valve bodies made with Arnite: Without a single failure.

For brake booster valves Arnite XT can be produced with a glass fiber content specified to 35.0 +/- 1.0% versus a minimum 2.0% margin in competitive products. Read more
