Miniature circuit breakers

For Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) we are leading the way not just in safety but in sustainability as the industry continues to move from thermosets to thermoplastics. From internals to cases and covers…we’ve got it covered.

For MCBs we offer high quality materials and insight that helps our customers continue to innovate in their markets.

Our family of advanced thermoplastics are ideal for various elements of the MCB: From enclosure, where a broad range of primary requirements is needed, ranging from flame-retardancy at the lowest wall thicknesses to improved tracking resistance and post-breaking retention of di-electric strength; to bobbin support which calls for high tensile strength; to the flanges, integrated or not, where the material’ability to contribute to the efficient and effective arc-cutting is key; to the switching mechanism itself – which requires low creep and friction as well as good dimensional stability.

From our tough, versatile Akulon® polyamide 6 to the ultra-heat-resisant Stanyl® (polyamide 46) and ForTii® (polyamide 4T) to our super flexible Arnitel® (copolyester elastomer), we offer customers compelling benefits.

Benefits

Our products are halogen-free and greener than many current alternatives – a key consideration as carbon footprint becomes a bigger issue. They offer economic benefits through improved processing (through injection molding, for example) and reduced cycle time with lower production losses.

Our thermoplastics also enable you to design smarter MCBs with thinner walls. Plastic components are more compact and can be more easily integrated with other parts, thus simplifying the design process.

This is supported by an expert global team, available on the ground, with detailed knowledge and experience of the electrical industry, its applications and challenges.

It all adds up to a unique, high-quality offering for MCBs and power distribution.
