A clean bill of health for yogurt

An international survey conducted by DSM reveals that today’s increasingly health-conscious consumers want a return to traditional values of natural, simple ingredients. Consumer demand for products made with familiar and simple ingredients comes from a desire to know the story of what they are eating – where it comes from and what it contains. Our content paper looks at the reasons for the rising appeal of yogurt focusing on clean label, the natural and organic yogurt and views on lactose-free dairy.

Based on a consumer perception survey undertaken in six diverse markets, this paper is the second of a set of global insight reports on yogurt. It forms part of the DSM Global Insight Series — an investigation into consumers’ perceptions and attitudes around food, taste and behavior — that aims to help the food industry improve its processes and deliver healthy, tasty and attractive products to consumers.
