Trauma: Technologies to meet dynamic needs

DSM leverages its proprietary technologies to help create devices that meet the fast-paced and dynamic needs of trauma surgery. Many of our materials are designed to provide a supportive scaffold. This scaffold supports the body’s natural healing process and then resorbs over time once the injured tissue has been repaired and regenerated.

Our fabrication capabilities include bone void fillers, polymer and metal plate systems and high-strength polymer fixation screws to help repair broken bones. To reinforce the repair of soft tissue defects, DSM offers extracellular matrix biologic scaffolds derived from both porcine dermis and porcine mesothelium.
