For blown film, polymers with high-melt viscosity are usually needed to keep the bubble stable.
Our latest bright innovation in this field is Akulon® XS – which crystallizes slower in the film bubble than conventional polyamide 6, matching better the crystallization rate of other material layers.
This in turn creates a stable bubble, extending the processing window and reducing or avoiding the need to use expensive, amorphous polyamides or polyamide copolymers. And all this with no compromise on overall quality of the film.
Cast (chill-roll or flat) film extrusion is primarily suitable for high quality film. Film quality is determined by sticking to tolerances, dimensional stability, clarity, and thermoform ability. These properties can be improved by selecting the right Akulon resin and right processing condition. Our technical support engineers will offer you their expertise to support your film production.
For BOPA film we’ve develop specialty grades of Akulon that reduces lactam contamination levels – ideal for medical applications where leachability is major issue.
Akulon Lopa is a specially designed engineered plastic with a lower oligomer count. Our customers can safeguard air quality in production by reducing the amount of powder released into the air.
