Productivity and quality optimization of multilayer coextruded film

Akulon® XP increases cast film line speeds and lowers system costs

Eliminates rheology mismatches between polyethylene and the barrier layer
•  Layer thickness distribution more even and less dependent on die design. Better film clarity
•  Reduced neck-in. Wider usable film width, quality constant right up to the edges, lower scrap
•  Lower barrier film thickness variations, thinner tie and barrier layers possible for given specification

Lower machine power requirements
•  Increase line speeds where barrier layer extruder is limiting factor

Akulon® XP improves blown film stability and enables new multilayer constructions
The improved shear viscosity gives Akulon XP its own inherent bubble stability. LDPE can be eliminated from constructions where its main function is to provide bubble stability.

Akulon® F grades for the optimum in a standard PA6 barrier material

•   Very low gel count,  consistent viscosity raises film quality, improves machine up-time
•   Wide choice of viscosities and process lubricants to suit your process
Akulon® F polyamide 6 improves puncture resistance and thermoforming of barrier films. Akulon® has exceptional adhesion to EVOH. When high EVOH barriers need thermoforming, Akulon® used as the tie layer will support the EVOH and ensure no break during stretching.
