Concrete sleepers, the preferred environmental option to hard wood sleepers,
needs energy to be absorbed when the train passes otherwise premature failure
can occur in the sleeper due to vibration fatigue in the concrete. Elastomeric
pads placed between the rail and the concrete provide this energy absorption.
Arnitel® outperforms alternative materials used in pads. Its superior
performance over a wide temperature range, resistance to chemicals and fatigue
allows Arnitel pads to last twice as long as any other material. The total
cost of use is reduced as rail maintenance costs are cut dramatically.
