DSM and Yili join forces to improve safety in the dairy industry of China

DSM and Yili announced today that together they are organizing the International Dairy Safety Forum on the 16th of January in Beijing. This one-day forum will bring together high-level representatives of the Chinese dairy industry and government authorities. Forum participants will discuss measures to safeguard product quality to regain consumer trust. Improving co-operation in the supply chain, good practice sharing and the establishment of a safe milk source system in China are high on the forum’s agenda.

Commenting on the initiative, Zhang Jian Qiu, Executive President of Yili Group, said: “Being a leading Chinese dairy company we feel it as part of our responsibility to help ensure product safety in the diary industry and safeguarding the reputation of an economical area crucial for our society. This forum is the right setting for discussion, as all parties are at the table, both industry and government. The forum will push forward to assist the Chinese dairy industry to fight unsafe dairy products which is of increasing concern to consumers, politicians, regulators and industry alike.”
