SRI Quality System Registrar has recently awarded an RC14001 Environmental Management System certificate to global UV-curable materials leader DSM Desotech, located in Elgin, Illinois and Stanley, North Carolina, for the activities, products, and services related to the design and manufacture of UV-curable fiber optic, ink, resin and coating materials.
According to A. Joseph Falcsik, SRI’s Vice President, Certification: “We are pleased to acknowledge that DSM Desotech has demonstrated the effective implementation of an environmental management system that satisfies the new chemical industry standard. RC14001 certification provides evidence to customers, suppliers, employees, and to nearby communities of the commitment by DSM Desotech to making health, safety, security and the environment a top priority.”
Responsible Care, launched by the American Chemistry Council over 16 years ago, is the U.S. chemical industry’s performance improvement initiative. RC14001 allows companies to combine the ACC’s Responsible Care Management System requirements with those of the ISO 14001 environmental management systems standard into a single, integrated certification audit. In addition to meeting the requirements of the RCMS Technical Specification, companies seeking RC14001 certification must adhere to the rules set forth by national accreditation bodies that govern the ISO process. This technical specification provides the basis for an ANAB-accredited registrar such as SRI to certify DSM Desotech, Inc..
