Bullet-resistant vests

Bullet-resistant vests containing Dyneema® provide excellent overt or covert protection. Dyneema®-based vests are easy to wear and comfortable over long periods of time. For covert vests, Dyneema® UD-SB is used in the flexible parts of the vests, while vests used for overt protection often contain hard insert plates made out of Dyneema® UD-HB. Bullet-resistant vests made with Dyneema® provide the following benefits:

The blunt trauma effect that a bullet’s impact has on the body is greatly reduced by the unique unidirectional construction of Dyneema® UD, which effectively spreads and quickly dissipates the bullet’s energy.

Dyneema® UD is not negatively affected by sunlight, chemicals or moisture.

Dyneema® UD can be combined with other materials for protection against specific threats.

Light weight Dyneema® means that vests containing Dyneema® UD are comfortable to wear over long periods of time. Vests made with Dyneema® are significantly lighter than those made with rival materials.

Vests made of Dyneema® UD are very flexible and allow full freedom of movement, while offering excellent protection against handgun ammunition.

Because Dyneema® offers weight-for-weight greater protection than other materials, it can be used to create relatively thin, flexible garments that can be concealed under a shirt, for instance, or disguised as a normal tailored waistcoat for discreet protection.
