A bright future for automotive lighting

For manufacturers looking to produce fog lamp housings and Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) Systems that truly break the mold and balance safety, sustainability and cost…there’s a new thermoplastic grade on the block: Arnite® XL-T. It’s proven in extensive testing to provide outstanding heat resistance and thermal performance along with excellent moisture management and outgassing qualities that outperform polyphthalamides (PPA).

Arnite XL-T is the latest in our family of thermally conductive thermoplastic polyesters that perform in the most extreme conditions while minimizing vehicle weight and fuel consumption – and thus reducing both costs and carbon emissions.

Arnite XL-T delivers its enhanced thermal conductivity via a proprietary filler with in-plane conductivity of 1.65 watts per meter kelvin (W/(m.K)). Truly, bright science in action.

This high heat resistance (HHR) combined with low out-gassing, excellent dimensional stability and mechanical properties make it an excellent alternative to metals and HHR materials (like polyphenylene sulphide and polyetherimides) used in automotive lighting.

Less weight, fuel, carbon & cost

Aside from its outstanding performance, Arnite XL-T gives manufacturers major weight reduction versus traditional materials like die-cast aluminum - not only through lighter weight but also a longer life thanks to less moisture and better heat management. The result: Significant savings in fuel emissions and a reduced carbon footprint.
