Making the right connection
Because they operate at such high currents, white goods need to comply with stringent safety regulations - particularly IEC 60335. For manufacturers, finding next-generation materials that add value while meeting these regulations isn’t easy. But when it comes to connectors Arnite is proving to be the ideal solution for white goods.
Arnite T XG meets all specified standards – and more. Its thermal performance, moldability and very low moisture uptake make it superior to both polyamide 6 and 66 (which both tend to expand and lose their shape). And importantly, it’s halogen-free, using a flame retardant system that’s free of both halogen and red phosphorus.
Brendan Maguire, Design Manager of connector specialist Molex Ireland says: “Halogen-free Arnite XG is revolutionary because it is the first unfilled PBT that has tested positively according to GWT on end products.”
