Invite to create “world’s safest hands” strikes home at events
Netherlands, 25 March 2015 - DSM Dyneema caused a stir at two recent health and safety events when it invited attendees to have their facilities listed as “best plants” by joining the company in creating the “world’s safest hands.”
The call went out at the Best Plants Conference & Expo, in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and the National Safety @Work show, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In both cases DSM Dyneema introduced manufacturing operations managers, safety directors and other leaders to new advances in workplace hand protection.
DSM Dyneema joins in sharing best practices
The goal was to share best practices for improving plant and business operations. Some 900 attendees and brands such as Ansell, Honeywell, Juba, BM Polyco and Ejendals were at the National Safety at Work show. Approximately 700 leaders attended the Best Plants Conference & Expo, which was hosted by Industry Week magazine. DSM Dyneema was the only high performance materials producer to exhibit at “Best Plants” and discuss how choosing the right gloves can prevent the most common cut hazards from injuring employees. Glove brands on show included Ansell, Banom Glove, Majestic, MCR Safety and PIP.
Comfort key to preventing hand cut injuries
During the events, DSM Dyneema showed protective gloves made with Dyneema® Diamond Technology. The point was to demonstrate to the entire PPE industry that comfort is the key to persuading people to keep their gloves on at work. DSM Dyneema also created a buzz by inviting visitors to its stand to have their facilities included among the world’s best plants by inviting them to “Join Us, Let’s Create the World’s Safest Hands.”
Surprise and an eagerness to learn more were the common reactions to just how light, thin and comfortable cut resistant gloves can be when made with Dyneema® Diamond Technology.
Stories of cut hazards and near misses
Many attendees also asked for more information about hand protection, the gloves on show and Dyneema® Diamond Technology in general. Others shared stories from their operations of cut hazards and near misses, so underlining the importance of proper workplace cut protection in enhancing health, safety and operational efficiency.
