DSM Dyneema highlights how not all safety gloves are cut from the same cloth @ Preventica
08 June 2015 - At Preventica Toulouse, the French show and conference dedicated to workplace security, work protection and ergonomical solutions which kicks off June 9, DSM Dyneema is showcasing the unparalleled safety benefits of cut-resistant gloves made with Dyneema®. At its booth (F04), DSM Dyneema is offering brief demonstrations of common workplace applications of gloves using this cutting-edge technology.
Those interested in discovering the best way to reduce workplace cut injuries are invited to join DSM Dyneema at the Preventica Toulouse conference Wednesday June 10th at 16h45 - 17h30 in Saloon D. At this time, DSM Dyneema’s Stephanie Colas will discuss ‘The secret of cut resistant gloves that don’t feel like gloves.’. She will emphasize the importance of high-quality, wearable protection in the workplace and point out the potential risks of the use of materials incorporated into gloves for cut resistance. Materials that perform well on lab tests, do not necessarily deliver the same results in daily practice. As she demonstrates, gloves made with Dyneema® retain their high performance and cut resistance even when subjected to impact, abrasion and repeated laundering. Yet none of this matters if workers fail to wear their gloves. Statistics show that in fully 70% of workplace hand and finger cuts accidents, no gloves were being used. The comfort and dexterity provided by gloves made with Dyneema® are key benefits that encourage workers to actually wear them.
Several leading manufacturers exhibiting at Preventica Toulouse 2015 are featuring work gloves made with Dyneema® at their booths, including Ansell (Booth B09), Ejendals (booth F21), UVEX (booth D15) and Honeywell Safety Products (Booth D12).
