From cows to consumers: introducing total dairy solutions from DSM
The new strategy enhances the quality of the entire value chain for customers, with DSM’s dairy capabilities spanning animal nutrition, dairy enzymes and cultures, and vitamins, minerals and micronutrients that enhance dairy food and beverage products targeting a range of desired health benefits. Vitamin D and calcium, for example, play a vital role in supporting healthy bones and physical development.
In addition to Food Innovation Centers in Europe, South America and Asia, DSM recently opened a state-of-the-art Applications Lab in New Jersey to enhance its innovation capabilities. The laboratory features a fully equipped pilot plant and sensory analysis facilities for all stages of dairy applications. These include optimized production processes, improving product quality, testing new ingredients and analyzing a range of products.
Doug Brown, Global Marketing Manager for Dairy, DSM Nutritional Products, commented: “At DSM, we cater to the needs of multinational companies as well as small local producers. Working closely with customers, DSM provides a ‘one stop shop’ for integrated dairy solutions. Our customer-focused strategy is backed up by years of industry experience and a strong commitment to both innovation and providing the best technical support possible.”
Jan Boeg Hansen, commercial director dairy cultures, DSM Food Specialties: “DSM pioneered solutions to help dairy processors achieve the textures, flavors and quality of traditional and artisanal cheeses, milk, ice cream, fermented dairy and whey products that consumers enjoy worldwide. DSM’s broad portfolio of enzymes, cultures and coagulants is designed to deliver excellent performance, reliable results and cost-effectiveness. Its DELVO® FRESH cultures portfolio, for example, helps manufacturers create authentic tasting dairy products, adapted to local unique taste preferences. Our product DELVO FRESH Sour Cream is nominated for the Dairy Innovation Award at this year FI Europe show.”
