DSM’s PeptoPro® adds competitive edge to PowerBar
A highly advanced peptide formulation derived from dairy protein, PeptoPro provides amino acids in a form that does not require further digestion and can be delivered straight to the muscles. This instant delivery of amino acids protects the muscles during exercise and kick-starts the recovery process. Sufficient amino acid intake is important after exercise as there is a limited timeframe, known as the post-exercise ‘window of opportunity’, before the muscle cells’ capacity for nutrient absorption slows down2. PeptoPro works in synergy with carbohydrate to efficiently repair the muscles and help replenish glycogen stores by boosting post-exercise insulin levels. In trials, PeptoPro has been shown to improve endurance and performance, stimulate muscle growth, accelerate recovery and reduce muscle soreness3, 4, 5 ,6. PeptoPro is completely and instantly soluble in cold water and is available in forms suitable for use in a variety of sports nutrition products.
