TPC - Arnitel®
Arnitel is a high-performance ThermoPlastic Copolyester (TPC) that offers you a unique combination of flexibility, high temperature resistance and strength - plus excellent processing characteristics.
As car manufacturers focus on reducing carbon emissions, they are also seeking to create the best driving experience possible. The suspension system is essential to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride – with reduced noise, vibration and harshness for the driver and passengers.
Our broad portfolio of materials has grades specifically designed to reduced noise, vibration and harshness in suspension parts, while delivering the strength and stiffness required for a reliable solution. Add up to 50% weight reduction over conventional metals, and substantial cost savings on the processing side, and our materials have proven themselves as the materials of choice for metal replacement in suspension systems.
Akulon PA6 has the strength and stiffness needed to replace metal, with a significant advantages including substantial reductions in weight, noise, vibration and harshness. It also provides good compatibility with the expansion rubber or foam applied to molded parts, and helps manufacturers realize a more cost-effective solution over comparable PA66 materials. Stanyl provides the performance you need more cost effectively than PPA and PPS. We support our material sales with extensive application knowledge, including high-speed tensile property data.
Arnitel is a high-performance ThermoPlastic Copolyester (TPC) that offers you a unique combination of flexibility, high temperature resistance and strength - plus excellent processing characteristics.
Akulon polyamide 6 & 66 resins represent the best value in all-purpose engineering materials, offering an excellent balance of design and processing with outstanding mechanical properties in diverse operating environments.
How will you design automotive components that meet the challenges of your industry, today and tomorrow? DSM offers high-performing plastic solutions, technologies and expertise for the extreme demands of next-generation vehicles.
Our materials are a driving force in producing automotive components that are extremely light; that reduce friction in the engine; and can operate in the most extreme heat. On the road to zero emissions It’s time to think differently. To think beyond metal. And above all, to think together.
As car manufacturers continuously focus on reducing weight to improve fuel efficiency, replacing metal parts with plastic remains a key challenge.
As our economy places more focus on efficiency, industry is responding by creating products that are thinner, lighter, and smaller – with the same or more functionality.
Plastics offer a solution that is lighter in weight than metal and rubber. In addition, plastics enable the production of parts with complex geometries, meaning its possible to convert a number of components into a single, simplified part.
