EcoPaXX is a high-performance aliphatic, biobased polyamide that uniquely balances the benefits of typical short and long chain polyamides, such as low moisture uptake and high mechanical performance.
Lead leaching into drinking water presents a major health risk. While faucets, water meter components, and fitting systems have traditionally used brass, copper, lead, and other metals, regulations on permissible lead levels have been strengthened. Also the demand for potable and warm water is increasing especially in high-growth economies, requiring cost solutions. This is driving the industry to look for alternative material solutions that are completely lead free, meeting local regulatory drinking water requirements for potable water distribution networks around the world.
High performance thermoplastic materials can help eliminate lead from these applications and can offer further simplification of designs, reduction of weight, further downsizing and reduction of the total system costs by eliminating metal components. An important aspect of these plastics is a good level of the weldline strength and its retention after storage under the extreme use conditions.
Our portfolio includes a number of engineering plastics ideal for use in contact with (hot) drinking water. These applications are challenging due to long term exposure to hot water, humidity at high temperature, and aggressive cleaners, and required designs still having weldlines.
For these applications we have developed high performance special control grades that have certification for drinking water and food applications in our Stanyl (PA46), Xytron (PPS), EcoPaXX (PA410), ForTii and ForTii Ace (PPA) portfolio.

ForTii has a unique PPA's technology with high amide density. The ForTii platform includes polymers that are the highest crystalline, highest melting point and highest glass transition temperature amongst all PPA.
Xytron is a high performance plastics compound based on linear polyphenylene sulfide. Xytron offers extreme chemical resistance, dimensional stability, and is intrinsically flame retardant.
