Investing to meet growing demand for advanced materials in North America
Today, we’re announcing a significant investment to futureproof and expand our high-performance materials compounding plant in Evansville, Indiana, USA. We’re excited for our colleagues in Evansville and our customers as we get ready to break ground in just a few weeks. Also, I’d like to share the reasons why this project is so important for our region.
- Growing customer demand for advanced materials: Across the Americas, our global customers are bringing manufacturing back to the region as increasingly advanced automation enables more localized sourcing strategies. This trend increases the importance of having an equally advanced facility to meet and exceed customer expectations in the region.
- Reinforcing our commitment to safety: Promoting the safety of our employees and guests at our facilities around the world is always our first priority. So, I’m pleased to share that the project will include enhancements to increase the overall safety of the Evansville facility.
- Strengthening our investment in the local community: The plant has been a part of the Evansville community for many years, and this investment reaffirms our commitment to sustain and grow our partnership.
- Advancing more sustainable material production: The project will also include enhancements to increase our capabilities to produce more sustainable bio-based materials in the region. For those that missed it, during last year’s K trade fair in Germany we announced a major new global commitment to produce bio-based or recycled alternatives for our entire portfolio by 2030.
