High Performance Plastics for Air Intake

Do you need to achieve metal or rubber replacement in the air management system and Under the Hood (UTH) components? Our high performance, high heat resistant automotive plastics enable lighter and smaller components – and are proven to perform at the fiercest temperatures for applications ranging from air ducts and resonators to end caps, air intake manifolds and engine covers.

We can help you squeeze greater performance from smaller, hotter engines with materials like our Stanyl® Diablo polyamide 46 and Akulon® Diabolo polyamide 6. They are up to 40% lighter than metal, easier and more flexible to process; while delivering all the mechanical properties you expect. In fact we can extend the functional life of components well beyond the limits of other high temperature polyamides.

Akulon® PA6 allows for light weight (40% lighter) and cost effective solutons as compared to metal; Akulon® PA6 allows for reliable solutions due to its higher heat ageing resistance and its better welding strength in comparison with PA66; Akulon® Ultraflow grades allow for addtional cost effectiveness due to 25% cycle time advantage as compared to standard grades

Clean Air Inlet Ducts

Arnitel® TPC allows for light weight solutions (50% lighter than rubber); Arnitel® TPC allows for reliable solutions due to its perfect combination of high (ageing) temperature resistance and good flexibility and chemical resistance; Akulon® PA6 allows for light weight solutions (50% lighter than metal) and for more rigid duct solutions.

Hot Charged Air Ducts

Stanyl® PA46, Stanyl® Diablo PA46, Akulon® Diablo PA and Arnitel® HT TPC allow for light weight solutions as compared to metal or rubber or alternative plastics (Stanyl® is 10% lighter than PPS); Stanyl® PA46, Stanyl® Diablo PA46, Akulon® Diablo PA and Arnitel® HT TPC allow for cost effective solutions (Stanyl lowers system cost up to 20% versus metal); Stanyl® PA46, Stanyl® Diablo PA46, Akulon® Diablo PA and Arnitel® HT TPC allow for reliable solutions (Stanyl® Diablo is long term resistant up to 230 ˚C, Akulon® Diablo ca be used around 200 ˚C) and Arnitel® HT is ideal as single part solution for flexible hot charge ducts.

Integrated Air Inlet Manifolds (up to 180°C)
