Our expertise in polymers in general - and Akulon in particular - comes from a long history as a leading producer of polyamide resins supported by our backwards-integrated global position in Caprolactam - the raw material needed for Polyamide 6. This, coupled with our 25-plus years’ experience in the automotive industry, makes us well placed to solve your application challenges.

Usage

Akulon polyamide 6 is a glass-fiber reinforced material now being used in applications ranging from airbags to intake manifolds to drivetrain and electrical & electronics. It’s superior in many respects not only to traditional metals, but also to other plastics.

Akulon Ultraflow offers an 80% improved flow and 25% reduction in injection molding cycle times versus regular Polyamide 6 grades. Furthermore, this same material can provide a superior finish to reinforced nylon components like engine covers.

We also offer Akulon polyamide 6 for a range of specialty applications.
