Arnite T

Arnite polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is an extremely versatile high-performance thermoplastic with a wide range of grades. It’s also halogen-free, which provides a major boost for manufacturers looking for a sustainable solution.


Arnite® T: The ideal PBT

Our Arnite T thermoplastic is incredibly versatile, based on the unique needs of our customers. It’s available in a range of grades including unfilled, glass filled, flame retardant, impact modified and many more. We even offer tailored PBT/PET blends.

The material is resistant to solvents, shrinks very little during forming, is mechanically strong with good dimensional stability, and is heat-resistant up to 150 °C (or 200 °C with glass fiber reinforcement). Arnite T also offers good processing characteristics. It’s easy to mold, has good wear resistance and very good color stability.


What really makes Arnite T stand out is the increasingly creative applications that manufacturers are finding for it. In white goods connectors, the material is halogen-free, based on a flame-retardant system that contains no halogen or red phosphorus. In consumer applications - like perfume bottles - the material is proving popular because it looks and feels like an expensive ceramic.

As for what the future holds, we envisage more consumer-led applications as Arnite T replaces metal (and indeed some plastics like polyamide 66) by providing a lighter, stronger, greener – and less expensive solution
